Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4-8 Potatoes
  • 1 Cup Water

Instructions

  • Wash and scrub the potatoes well.
  • Add water to the steel insert pot in the Instant Pot.
  • Place a trivet. Place the potatoes on the trivet
  • Close the instant pot lid, and make sure to check the pressure valve is at the sealing position.
  • Press Pressure Cook, and manually adjust the time to 12 minutes.
  • Pressure cook the potatoes on Manual Pressure cook for 12 minutes on high Pressure.
  • Let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes, do a quick pressure release.
  • Open the lid carefully. Pierce a fork to check the potatoes are well done.
  • Take them out carefully in a bowl, using a pair of tongs.

Notes

1.The cooking time can vary
  • Baby/Bite-sized potatoes (1 to 2 ounces), cook at high pressure for 5 minutes.
  • Small potatoes (3 to 5 ounces), cook at high pressure for 8 minutes.
  • Medium potatoes (6 to 8 ounces), cook at high pressure for 10 minutes.–
  • Large potatoes (9-12 ounces), cook at high pressure for 12 minutes.
2. This recipe is tested like all my other instant pot recipes, in a 6qt Instant pot. For a bigger instant pot, you will have to add more water.
3. For potatoes of more than 12 ounces, try adding an extra minute to cook.
4. I have tried cooking around 8-10 potatoes and the time seems to work, as long as the potatoes fit, and are of the same size.
